Of early mornings.

I almost believed that quietness has some correlation with loneliness. Wake up for sahur–semi-comatose– with only the sound of wall-clock ticking and the air-cond whirring. Later during the day, undertake a singly affair of cooking and breaking fast . Often times in all of these activities, it never escapes me that the most stark quality is the quiet. So quiet that i deliberately take deep breaths and exhale loudly to create some noise. This type of quietness begs me to sigh sometimes. Occasionally, the mind can’t help but wander around to this verse:

They are like garments unto you as you are like garments unto them” (2: 187)

Garments are worn traditionally as protection from both cold and warmth. Garments can make you look good, even great . They protect your modesty and cover your shame. They are close to you, always, all the time. They fit. They are comfortable.

It never fails to mesmerize me how —in just one line– the book that i follow can manage to describe the essence of married couples with ample potency and aptness.

Apa kaitan? Tak tau.

*chuckle* It’s evidently clear now that i need to have more friends. Or a cat.

About farahhanani

Family: Eldest in a loud family of seven but sorely shortest in height. Views: Writing, to her, is akin to a cross-country race. Potentially hate able, often lengthy, but flows surprisingly easy. She writes grudgingly in prelude, but the great contention in epilogue is all worth detesting for.
